Finally got the tune pretty much nailed down on this beast! Turns out most of my issues on this build from the last video were related to a bad FC: likely a bad gyro, but could have been a noisy regulator. Either way a quick swap to a new FC, and boom! Thing flies like a champ and no more vibration issues. I was able to bump the filter sliders all the way to 2.0 on gyro. I left it at 1.3 on dterm just to be on the safe side, and honestly the prop wash is completely manageable. I manually bumped up d-min values a tad and increased pitch P a few points. I might do a few final tweaks, but it's flying so well now it's kind of a moot point. The new feed forward boost is definitely kicking, I can definitely feel a difference on rapid moves, so I decided to explore my rates a bit to see how they relate. I added only 0.1 expo just to see how severe a difference it would make. Man alive! Only 0.1 expo really deadens the center sticks! I mean it is dramatic! I almost crashed a couple of times on snap rolls because of the difference the first couple packs. Getting used to it now, but I'm not sure if I'll keep it enabled. It definitely smooths out the center sticks a good bit and helps with my tendency to overshoot on small snap moves. The combination of the lower center rates does seem to work well with the feed forward boost. We'll see! Fun to experiment anyway. Still loving these 51455 Hurricane props. Super snappy, fast response, good grip. Even not too bad on the battery on most of my rigs. Probably will eat some current on higher kv, but I'm mostly on ~2500kvish. Anyway, good times, and fun flying! Love this spot too, nice combination of features. I wouldn't mind a few more trees, but I'll take what I can get! I managed to get a buddy at work into mini-quads and got him to come out with me, so it's nice to have a spotter. Random students like to walk across the field :D
