We use to come here by bicycles when I was kid. It was a real adventure for a gang of 7-10 year-old boys. A quick trip from my home town Shumen, this place is called Madara Rocks or Madara Mesa, the locals call it Madarsko Plateau (Bulgarian). So naturally I visited the place again list summer, eager to show it to my wife and my 4 year-old boy. Madara is home to many wonders, this is an ancient place, I mean really old! The site where we stopped so I can fly my quadcopter for instance is a two thousand year-old Roman villa. The caves high up in the sandstone were once home to early humans, and were later inhabited by monks. There is a Roman fortress, a Thracian fortress, a Bulgarian fortress, as well as a giant cave that is still used as a classic music concert venue. But the jewel of this place is the Madara Horseman, also known as the Madara Rider, a 1300 year old bas-relief carved in the rock face. The aircraft used: Pyro drone Floss 3 7" frame controlled by 435mHz Dragon Link V3 Slim UHF System. T-motors F60 1750kv, all running on 5S 1800mAh Lipo. Camcorder Gopro Hero 6 Black. Footage was smoothed in Reelsteady GO software.
