Masino Valley - Chapter I - Preda Rossa (Lombardy, Italy)

Top AirVuz contributor Kpax brings us this stunning drone video from the Masino Valley in northern Italy.  The valley is located in Sondrio, the northernmost of the dozen provinces which make up the region of Lombardy.  It's roughly an hour's drive north of the city of Milan and just a few mi. from Italy's northern border with Switzerland.  The valley sits at an elevation of about 6.3k ft. above sea level or around 1.9k m.  It's one of the most popular areas for rock climbing in the entire Alps region.

At the altitude of almost 1900m, Preda Rossa, in the Masino valley, is a glacial moraine area in front the white walls of Monte Disgrazia.

The main area is reachable by car from Filorera (road with a fee). The geological history of this glacier appear in front of you, the panorama is beautiful and it is a perfect location for a day trip and pic-nic.

Alpinists have the opportunity to sleep at the Ponti hut to climb the Monte Disgrazia (3678m).
