Mauritius island

For a great 2+ minute aerial tour of the Indian Ocean island nation of Mauritius, check out this beautiful drone video by contributor Sinbad the Aviator.  The four island archipelago has been an independent country since 1968, but before that it was part of the Dutch, then French, then British Empires.  It's part of the Mascarene Islands, which also includes Reunion Island.  The main island of Mauritius has over 150 km (about 90 mi.) of white sand beaches and is home to the world's third largest coral reef.
