AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor Jorge Novo Murias used a drone to create this epic bird's eye view of of Portugal's Vasco de Gama Bridge. The highly complex span was completed in 1998 in connection with Expo 1998, the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama's epic voyage to India. The cable-stayed bridge, which is the second longest in Europe, spans 12.3 km (7.3 mi) over the Tagus river. Like the Pon 25 de Abril Bridge, it's now a critical part of metropolitan Lisbon's infrastructure.
