Melbourne ghost town, lockdown #6, 222 days and counting 4K

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Gizmo Drones brings us this rather haunting aerial tour of the city of Melbourne, Australia as the city was under lockdown in September, 2021 to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The video opens with a shot looking down the Yarra River towards Marvel (Docklands) Stadium. Then it's on to Melbourne Town Hall, just north of the Yarra. At abiout the 1:18 mark, there's a nice shot of the Arts Center Melbourne, on the river's south bank, followed by some sweeping shots of the city's CBD.

It is hard to believe that Melbourne has been in lockdown for a total of 222 days as of Friday 10th September 2021. Our 6th lockdown started 6th August and there is no end in sight. I captured these shots over the last few weeks as I exercised within my 5 km or 3 mile limit and before the nightly 9pm curfew. How life in beautiful Melbourne has changed. I know it has impacted so many people. Stay strong Melburnians as well as Sydneyites and to everyone else impacted.
