Mompox Does Not Exist
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Mompox, or Santa Cruz de Mompox, is a town in the Bolívar Department (state) of northern Colombia. Seen here in this drone video by la.drones, Mompox dates to colonial times. In 1812, it supplied the initial force of men for Simón Bolívar's in his campaign to liberate the South American continent from Spanish control. Once primarily dedicated to cattle-raising, the town is now a significant tourist destination in northern Colombia and is known for its churches, some of which date to the 16th century.

“Mompox does not exist, sometimes we dream about it, but it does not exist,” told Simón Bolívar when he arrived there on his last trip to Santa Marta, according to Gabriel García Márquez in his book: El general en su laberinto.
