Mont Saint Michel France, Full tide and sunset

The small tidal island of Mont St. Michel in northwestern France is one of the most iconic locations of Europe.  Connected to the Normandy coast by a narrow causeway, the island is dominated by its hilltop fortified monastery complex.  Dating to the 8th century AD, this was considered one of the strongest fortresses during the Middle Ages.  Seen here in this drone video by antoncha, Mont St. Michel was depicted in the Bayeaux Tapestry, considered the best original "document" depicting the Norman Conquest of England.
