Mussenden Temple built in 1785. Constructed as a library and modelled on the Temple of Vesta in Rome. A fire was kept constantly burning in the basement to retain heat and keep the books dry. An inscription around the building in Latin, reads ''Tis pleasant, safely to behold from shore, The troubled sailor, and hear the tempests roar'. Visit it soon though....coastal erosion means it's pretty much due to collapse by now.
