New Orleans Levee System
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
The devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans, Louisiana was without precedent in American history. While the city held up reasonably well from the initial impact of the storm in late August, 2005, its protective system of levees failed catastrophically, killing over 1,000 people and causing over $100 billion in property damage. In this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor AirWorthy Tours, you'll get an aerial view of the levee system which was constructed following Katrina to prevent a recurrence of the disaster.
