Hello Airvuz!
3 batteries today, to adapt to my new rates.
A rather long video, 7 minutes of ramping up, showcasing how anyone can evolve within 3 batteries and how significant new rates settings can be. I'm back at Ta' Qali field, where I began flying and then dismissed, and what a journey since a year it has been!
My dear friend Sammy (eyeconfpv) always was very peculiar about how his rates were important to him. I witnessed him work on them for long months, until that recent day when he came to me telling that he had found them. His flow is one of the best I know of, and I watched as he befriended and exchanged with Johnny_FPV, who is today definitely one of the top flows in the world; Johnny, too, did a transformation recently, showcasing his new rates, and insisting on how they could impact tremendously your flying style. I watched Mr Steele tell us the same: this sealed the deal, and I decided I had to investigate further, and to try, as well.
Since March this year, when my late Alien decided to leave this world and inhabit the Atlantic ocean for good, I had a hard time getting a quadcopter back in the air without a problem here or there. I felt I was doomed. It took me until now, after numerous builds and fires onboard and gear failing, and help and trust from friends letting me toy with their quads, to get a craft that matched the reliability of my previous ImpulseRC Alien. The new ability to switch back and forth from 4S to 5S enhances my training; the frustration was turned into dedication, and I believe it is finally rewarding me now. I found a new flow, I now can micro-manage my airtime in chunks easily, taking as much time as I need to plan ahead while inverted or going ballistic. For power is nothing without control.
I'd like to thank Boris B. and the team at MRP, who inspired me and enabled me going 5S and trust Betaflight. You guys rock, and how I wish to be part of your team someday!
A big thanks to Mattystuntz, who gave me some important keys a few months ago.
A thanks to A_nub for his Shrike, which opened doors in my mind.
To Steele, Chad and Tommy and the crew at Rotor Riot.
To Jesmond, my wingman, who finally flies his Shrike like a stealth ninja and always has been there for me. To Mario, who helped me stay in the air; to Sammy, of course.
And to my sponsor Dickens, and Gopro, for providing me so many Gopros in so little time, when I needed them. Thank you.
Finally, thanks Dad, you managed to get me those 5S lipos when the embargo here in Malta is preventing me from getting proper lipos.
And to you, of course, thank you for your time.
Gratz to the crew!
