South of Los Angeles and Long Beach is gigantic Orange County, which runs along the Pacific Coast and well inland.  The areas's development was conceived by the real estate and railway men who ruled LA as a way to extend their empires southward.  Its best known coastal town is Newport Beach, which is also the unofficial sailing capital of the USA's West Coast.  In this drone video by Marty Mitchell, you'll get a bird's eye view of the city's famed pier and a centenary commemoration square built in 2008.
