Palamós is a Spanish municipality in the Bajo Ampurdán region, in the province of Gerona (Catalonia). At present the main source of income is tourism. Palamós is famous for its landscapes, beaches, commercial port and prawn. It is also famous for the amount of diving enthusiasts that attracts thanks to its fantastic sunken ship, Boreas, which was tugboat and icebreaker of the German Navy during World War II, being later used for drug trafficking and confiscated by the authorities occupying space in the port of the same locality, until the sinking was finally authorized on January 25, 1989.
