Casera Auernig - Passo Pramollo, January 2020 The Passo di Pramollo, (Pramuel in Friulian, Nassfeldpass or Nassfeldsattel in German, Mokrine in Slovenian), is an alpine pass located at an altitude of 1,530 m which connects Italy and Austria. In all local languages (Friulian, Italian, German and Slovenian) the toponym alludes to the ancient presence of marshy areas on the pass (Pramollo = "meadow soft"; Pramuel = from Prât muel, "meadow soak"; Nassfeld = "wet field "or" waterlogged field "; Mokrine =" marshy area "), near which there is today an alpine lake known as Lake Pramollo. The pass climbs with a winding road from Pontebba, in the Canal del Ferro, in Italy, and then descends towards the village of Tröpolach in Austria, in the Gail valley (Gailtal in German). The border between Austria and Italy is located right at the top of the pass. The Pramollo Pass is a ski resort, with the lifts mainly on the Austrian side, and is the largest ski area in Carinthia, with its 110 km of slopes and 30 lifts. Some lifts remain in operation even in the summer season as a connection with the surrounding peaks. On the first Sunday of August the traditional "Friuli / Carinthia friendship party" takes place, organized by the twinned towns of Pontebba and Hermagor. To make this video I used a Phantom 4 advanced. Editing with iMac 2010 and imovie.
