Passo do S
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sol is the southernmost of Brazil's 26 states (27 counting the Federal District which houses the capital city of Brasilia). Its coastal areas are quite populous - it's the fifth largest state by population. The interior of the state is a land of rivers that drain its extensive mountainous and plateau areas into the Atlantic Ocean. In this drone video by Luiz Gerbase, you'll get an aerial view of an area near Cambará do Sul in the northeastern part of the state, on the Tainhas River.

In Passo do S, located 38km from Cambará do Sul- Brazil, it is possible to be dazzled by a beautiful landscape where tropeiros used to cross the River Tainhas.
At this point, the river ceases to be deep and runs on a 80-meter wide slab where it is possible to cross it, on foot, by car or on horseback.
Further on the flagstone becomes a waterfall 100m high, also of indescribable beauty.
As nature was once more capricious in Aparados da Serra, this curiously slab is shaped like a perfect S, giving rise to its name: Passo do "S".
Vagner Cunha, a Brazilian composer, frames with his beautiful music Variações de São Petesburgo the Passo do S.
