Pensacola Beach from Above

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Here's a nice aerial view of Florida's Pensacola Beach, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Shuttering Thru Life. Pensacola Beach is located on a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, just south of the city of Pensacola, at the western end of the Florida Pandhandle. The video was filmed with an Autel Evo Lite drone. Just past the 3:30 mark, there's a nice shot of the causeway of County Road 399 which connects the barrier island to the Florida mainland over the English Navy Cove.

Getting up early before sunrise is so much easier to do on the beach. There is just something about the sound of the ocean that gets you going. It was fun capturing footage in the early morning hours. My planning for these flights began as soon as we made our reservations. This area is covered in airports and MOA's (Military Operations Area). Also, Pensacola is the home of the Blue Angels and this area is denoted as a National Seashore which carries the same restrictions for unmanned aircraft as National Parks do. However, with a deep dive into the air maps and a talk with the Santa Rosa Island Authority, I got a good understanding of where I could fly. With that knowledge, I still had to keep my eyes and ears open ready to respond to any manned aircraft. Thankfully, the skies were clear on the mornings I took flight. I hope you enjoy the video.
