Playa El Morro Monte Cristi Republica Dominicana

Montecristi is one of the 32 provinces of the Dominican Republic, located in the Northwest region of the country. Montecristi was founded by Nicolás de Ovando in 1506 and repopulated by Juan de Bolaños and 60 families of the Canary Islands on May 30, 1533, it was depopulated during the devastations of Osorio in 1606, with whose population and that of Puerto Plata Monte was founded Silver. Then it was repopulated on April 25, 1879, as a Marine District, and then, in November of 1907 as a Province. Its capital: San Fernando de Montecristi.
