Pont du Gard - France

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Contributor Juliendrone created this beautiful video of the Pont du Gard, one of the world's most well known aquaduct bridges.  It spans the Gardon River in the Gard District of Southern France.  It was built in the first century AD to provide water to the nearby city of Nimes.  The world's highest elevated aquaduct, the 275 meter (900 ft.) stone bridge was designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1985.  The stone structure was last known to be used in the 6th century.
