Prelude of the north
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Spitsbergen is the largest and only permanently populated island off the coast of northern Norway in the Svalbard archipelago. Known for its rugged terrain of glaciers, mountains, fjords, and frozen tundra, Svalbard is home rare animals like polar bears, Svalbar reindeer, and Arctic foxes. The area was originally used as a whaling base, then became home to a mining company. Six national parks protect its fragile ecosystem. Pilot toast777 brings us aerial views of this incredibly remote, arctic archipelago.

Video of a mysterious archipelago of Spitsbergen. Make sure you watch it in HD and with the sound on for the beautiful piano piece from Damir Muhamedyarov. As far north as it possibly gets without being a new Frederick Cook we went there with fearless mr Zbig to finally establish whether the Earth is truly flat. Although the conclusion has not been reached we saw a pretty surreal land which video of I finally managed to put together to share with you. Complimented by that absolute gem of minimalistic piano music by Damir which brings to mind the atmosphere of Philip Glass soundtracks and the Koyaanisqatsi movie (anybody remembers that?). Hope the music and the sights makes you as dreamy as we were exploring this place!
