Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Here's a nice aerial look at the Mexican beach city of Puerta Vallarta, compliments of Matt Rafferty.  Located near the mid-point in Mexico's Pacific coastline, PV was a sleepy, virtually unknown fishing village until the 1950's, when it became something of a disaffected colony for US writers.  Beginning in the 1960's a number of factors (including the filming of the movie Night of the Iguana nearby) conspired to create a tourism boom which has turned it into one of the country's top beach destinations.
