Rainbow Mountain, Peru
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
A member of the AirVuz staff was in Peru doing some freelance work on a film project and created this video of Peru's Rainbow Mountain, one of the great natural treasures of this South American country. Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), which only recently opened for tourism, is part of the Andes Mountain range. It's located a bit to the south and east of Cusco, the main gateway into the Peruvian Andes region. The mountain's fantastic coloring derives from an unusual pattern of sediment deposition.

AirVuz Productions recently traveled to Peru to work on several projects. While we were there we took a trip to Rainbow Mountain and this was our view from the top!
Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca or Montana de Colores, is best seen while taking one of the Ausangate Treks. Ausangate Mountain is considered a holy mountain by local Peruvians and is the deity of Cusco. Since pre-Inca times the mountain has been a place of worship and has become a popular tourist attraction.
On the hike you can see llamas, alpaca, an incredible view of the Ausangate Glacier (which sits at 20,945 ft and is the highest mountain in the Cusco region) and of course the stunning rainbow colors that run down the side of the mountains.
