Back again at my usual spot here. I've been feeling a bit like my flying has stagnated a lot over the winter, so I'm trying to get in more stick time to regain some of my confidence on the sticks. Also I have been playing with Betaflight 3.4 and the dual stage filters and some different tuning than I usually run. I've tried jacking up D gains much higher than usual. I typically don't like to do that because it impacts the precision and "snap" near center sticks. I'm trying to compensate by upping my RC rate and lowering my super rates to work out some of that lag that high D creates. I found that it makes the quad SUPER smooth and definitely helps with prop wash, but I really miss that center stick feel of low D. I need to keep playing and see if I can compensate by upping the dterm set point a bit. We'll see if ultimately I can make something I'm happy with, or if I go back to my usual. Also curious if the difference is visible in my flying. I feel like it is, but I know what I'm looking for. I've also been trying to focus a bit more on my proximity and ground work, so a few things are different here. Anyway, it's an interesting experiment all around!
