River Ravnjak in Montenegro // December 2022

It is located 15 km from the center of Mojkovac, in the direction of NP "Durmitor" and Đurđević Tara, at the very entrance to the famous canyon. In just a few meters, this spring turns into a bubbling torrent, with a water flow of about 10 cubic meters per second. The sight leaves you breathless - the powerful karst spring creates several cascades. The water is drinkable and extremely cold (colder than Tara). Ravnjak can boast of a large amount of fish. This place is, in fact, a natural spawning ground for all fish from Tara. The beauty of Ravnjak was also appreciated by Josip Broz Tito who built his hunting lodge right here, right next to the spring. The former hunting ground of the lifelong president of Yugoslavia was later turned into a hotel-restaurant, retaining its original appearance.
