Sawmill Lake Spilling, Canyon Creek, Nevada County, CA May 2021 - HD 4k drone video

While looking for some nice waterfalls my brother and I discovered the spillway on Sawmill Lake. The lake is around 114 acres at an elevation of 5,800 feet. Canyon Creek connects Sawmill Lake to Bowman Reservoir, in the Sierra Tahoe National Forest. Very few lakes in California are full this spring, so seeing Sawmill Lake spilling was a real treat. I don't think this will last very long so I was fortunate to video it while it was happening. It was a rainy day with thunder storms so we had to wait between rain showers to fly the drones. So if I look hurried that is the reason. This was captured using the DJI Mini 2, which is so much easier to carry to locations like this. This lake is great for fishing and camping. Kayaking and canoeing are all popular around this lake. The Pacific Crest Trail is also nearby. No motorized boats or watercraft are allowed, so this place is wonderfully quiet.
