Siccar Point | Hutton’s Unconformity | Scotland

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Contributor Play North created this fascinating drone video of one of the world's most studied geological formations.  It's called Siccar Point, a mini-peninsula off the North Sea coast of Scotland, just south of the Firth of Forth.  In the late 1700s a Scottish geologist named James Hutton used the highly unusual rock formation junction here to advance a theory of basic geological processes that has largely proven out; the rocks of Siccar Point have since been referred to as Hutton's Unconformity.
