The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth, home to many sites with breathtaking beauty. In recent years this region has become even more melancholy -- sinkholes have been erupting on a daily basis, making it a geological disaster zone and swallowing everything in their path. My drone and I survey the area from above, venturing where it is dangerous to tread by foot. The song accompanying the video is about the Dead Sea, performed by Arik Einstein, a well-loved Israeli singer and songwriter who passed away 2 years ago. It was written by a 16-year old teenager, Eitan Perets, who was enchanted by the beauty of the place. The video includes some surprises, such as a group of teenagers bathing and dancing in a natural pool, and the abandoned spa at Mineral Beach that was claimed by the sinkholes.
