According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in the cave behind Skogafoss, although you wouldn't catch me trying to go there. At 50 feet across and 200 feet high, Skogafoss is one of the largest waterfalls in Iceland, and has been featured in movie, Thor: The Dark World, as well as the TV series, Vikings.
