The church of Sant Andreu del Castell de Tona is located near the town of Tona in the Catalan region of Osona. Next to it are the remains of the old Tona castle.
The church documented by its consecration in the year 889, was replaced by another of Lombard architecture, dating from the first half of the 11th century.
Later reforms were made during the 17th and 18th centuries, adding side chapels, a bell tower and the Renaissance doorway. The cult continued until the 18th century, when it was moved to the church of Santa Maria del Barri, also called Ermita de Lurdes. In archaeological excavations carried out in 1943, remains of the old 9th century church, anthropomorphic tombs, coins and a pre-Romanesque capital were found, which are preserved in the Tona museum.
In 1988 it was restored by the Generalitat of Catalonia. In 2011 the church was once again the subject of works.
