Last Sunday was really a magnificent day and I could not resist the urge to go into the mountains and get some mid-range action going. In the process, I met new friends from social media in real life and was once again blown away by the friendliness of the FPV community. Regarding the flights, I'm still experiencing some jello even though it got much better with a softmounted stack and the Master Airscrew Rs 6x4.5x3 props. I did some blackbox logging that day which will hopefully help me tune the filters to 6" props (they induce noise on different frequencies!). I will also try some moongel on the camera mount to dampen the vibrations even more. The peak was about 2km away from where we took off, which is about where I draw the line in terms of range for the Crossfire Micro TX. I will probably upgrade to the full-size module once it's back in stock. I will also upgrade the fpv camera because that Sparrow is really starting to bother me. I got an Eagle 2 on my newest build (Rooster) and it's night and day! By the way, you can see some freestyle footage from the (untuned) Rooster around the 1:25 mark in this video.
