Tai Mo Shan: The Highest Mountain In Hong Kong

The mountain, which is actually an inactive volcano, is located roughly in the geographic center of the New Territories, on the Asian mainland. It has a peak elevation of 3.14k ft. above sea level, or 957 m. The mountain, together with its sub-peaks (a number of which rise to elevations of over 2k ft. above sea level or around 600 meters) is sometimes called Guan Fu Mountain.

Rising 957 metres above sea level, the frequently cloud-covered Tai Mo Shan is Hong Kong’s highest peak and is visible from many parts of the city. The access provided by the road makes Tai Mo Shan extremely popular with hikers, cyclists to climb up for panoramic views, a sea of clouds and sunrise.
