The Connecticut coastline along Long Island Sound is home to a number of islands, some of which are uninhabited. One of them is called Tavern Island. It's a privately owned island due south of Norwalk, just a five minute boat ride from the mainland. The island covers just over 2.5 acres. The main house was built in the 1930's and was the scene of some legendary parties in the 1950's. The island recently sold for just under $9 million.
