The Bastei, a rock formation in Germany

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Contributor and pilot Koorosh used a DJI Phantom 4 drone to create this spectacular aerial video of one of the most impressive rock formations in Germany. The Bastei is situated in the state of Saxony in what had been East Germany prior to German reunification in 1989. The tops of the rocks are almost 200 meters (over 650 ft.) above the Elbe River, in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The Bastei are one of the major outdoor tourist attractions in eastern Germany, easily accessible from nearby Dresden.

English: The Bastei is a rock formation towering 194 metres above the Elbe River in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains of Germany. Reaching a height of 305 metres above sea level, the jagged rocks of the Bastei were formed by water erosion over one million years ago. They are situated near Rathen, not far from Pirna southeast of the city of Dresden, and are the major landmark of the Saxon Switzerland National Park. They are also part of a climbing and hiking area that extends over the borders into the Bohemian Switzerland (Czech Republic).
