The Col du Béal, altitude 1390m, is the ideal place for lovers of panoramas and outdoor activities.

The Col du Béal is located on the crest line of the Monts du Forez, on the edge of the municipal territory of Chalmazel-Jeansagnière and Saint-Pierre-la-Bourlhonne, on the border between the Loire and Puy-de-Dôme (region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes).

The pass is located in the heart of the Hautes Chaumes, vast open plateaus classified Natura 20002. The place has an altisurface, high altitude terrain that can be used for the landing of aircraft in aeronautical jargon, located on the gentle slope in direction Peyre-Mayou (1,542 meters).

Above the Col du Béal is the Roche Courbe orientation table (1,433 meters)3. You can see to the west the Puy de Dôme, the Dore mountains, the Cantal mountains and even on a very clear day to the east the Beaujolais mountains, Mont Blanc and the Alps.
