Known as The Flip Flop Squad, couple Alexis and Ola met 7 years ago and since then they never stop traveling around the world. They have been to countless countries, including Peru and New Zealand as well as infamous cities like Dubai and Bali. The idea of "besos" or their dronies that fly away from a kiss came from wanting to send postcards of their travels to their family and friends. They wanted everyone to know they were doing well and having a great time - no better way to do that then sending kisses from a drone! Alexis and Ola's aerial work can be seen in these collections: Bird's Eye Views of South America Best Honeymoon Destinations from an Aerial View Dubai on High! Happy Holidays! VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: Tyler: You know them as the Flip Flop Squad, Alexis and Ola joining us on The Drone Dish today. How are you two doing? Ola: Good, thank you so much for inviting us. Alexis: Very good thank you. Tyler: Absolutely yeah, excited to have you on the show. Now I've been following your travels and your videos for quite a while now. How long have you been traveling the world together? Ola: It's been basically from the very beginning of our relationship, which means more than seven years now. Alexis is from France originally and I'm from Poland and we met in Estonia, where we're both exchange students. Tyler: I know on your recent travels, in recent years you've been bringing a drone along with you and documenting it with videos. How long have you been flying the drone and what made you decide to get a drone in the first place? Alexis: Yeah actually it was pretty accidental. I tried a drone for the first time at work. One of my colleagues bought one and as a child I was pretty amazed with remote control cars and here was this dimension. I really felt amazed by just the fact of flying it, so as a gift when I quit the job and left for our honeymoon for three months, they just offered me a drone. And from there I've discovered that it was a whole new perspective. Tyler: I know one of the things that makes your videos unique is the besos or kisses that you do in a lot of the videos. How did that idea start, when did you first start doing that and why? Alexis: Yeah actually it was so it was approximately in the same time we left to South America for our honeymoon and so my colleague just offered me this great gift, this drone. It was from Parrot, the Bebop 2. And to share a bit of our trip, we decided to send this besos because we were sending them kisses. And so we extended that to our friends and family. It was just to show them where we were traveling. Ola: That we're fine. Alexis: That we're fine, yeah. Ola: Basically it was some kind of false cards for families and friends. Tyler: It's a very cool idea, I really like it, it's very unique. Like I said, of all the places you've done the besos video, do you have a favorite location that you've done? Ola: So many. My favorite one is definitely the one from a tree house in the middle of the Peruvian Amazonia. Alexis: Maybe my favorite one is probably the one in New Zealand when we are lying on top of our pink van. It represent our- Ola: We didn't choose the color of the van. Alexis: No, no it's pretty good van, it represent our freedom I guess and recently we went to Nepal and it was quite something to be able to fly over there. We have a shoot where we can see the Mount Everest behind us and I'm pretty happy to have this one. Tyler: Yeah that one was pretty great too, I think that was one of your most recent ones. How do you go about picking the locations from where you do these besos videos from? Alexis: We don't necessarily pick them, it's just that we travel in nice places and every time we are in scenaries that shoots it. We fly the drone and we try to capture a beso but it doesn't work all the time. Sometimes it's not that great and we have a lot of footage basically. Tyler: You mentioned a lot of countries you've visited, pretty much every continent. Where are your travels going to take you next? Ola: We just came back from Fiji virtually yesterday morning. We already started to plan a little diving trip in the Great Barrier Reef and we would like to go to the Philippines this year. But some people might think that we never work but we actually do. We have full-time jobs so we just try to squeeze in as many travels as possible. Alexis: Thank you so much for inviting us. Ola: Thank you so much for inviting us.
