The Fortified Church of Cisnădioara, Transylvania, Romania.

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

The southeastern corner of Romania's Transylvania region is home to a large number of fortified church complexes.  They date to the 13th-16th century, when Transylvania was part of the Kingdom of Hungary and under the threat of invasion from the Mongols and later the Ottomans.  One of the best-preserved of these compexes is in the town of Cisnădie.  Seen here in this drone video by ridethefog, the original structure dates to the 12th century but was heavily fortified in the 15th century following the Turkish invasion of the region.
