The Kelpies, Falkirk - Scotland
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Among the more recent additions to the landscape of Scotland are the Kelpies - a set of two giant horsehead statues in the Lowlands' Falkirk Council. Completed in 2013, the statues are the symbolic heart of a land redevelopment project known as the Helix, which involves redeveloping the eastern end of the Forth and Clyde Canal where it joins the River Carron, not far from its mouth on the Firth of Forth. "Kelpies" are mythological horses which can transform themselves into a human, said to exist in Scotland's Lochs.

These 30m high horses heads are based on two real life horses called Duke and Baron from Clydesdale. Their detail is astounding. A real engineering feat to have put it together so true to form by steel! They each weigh 300 tonnes!!! The name "Kelpies" is from Celtic folklore. It's about mythical water creatures that take the shape of horses.
