The grave was the hole (Holy Week, 1967)

People there tell that the fatality was due an impatient imprudence from the miners.Only one trip remained to close the mine and it minutes to become night, so they decided to go surface all six with the machinery left. They hit one time and then three (the signal to go up) and slowly they ascend from the depths. Soon the tragedy struck. The pulling cable did not support the extra weight and cracked loose a mere 70 metres from freedom. Nothing could be done.

They tried unsuccessfully to save them, but the the hole (almost 1 mile long) was obstructed by a crushed mess of steel, wood, and cables in wich the cage had become. They were left there.
