The Old Town of Srebrenik is located on the north-eastern slopes of the Majevica mountain, above the valley of the Tinja River. The town used to have a great strategic importance for the defence of the wide area around. The appearance of the Old Town is determined by the terrain nature. The town was built on a steep almost inaccessible rock massif, rising about 50-70 meters above the surrounding area. It can be entered through a gatehouse (kapi-kula) located on the south-eastern slope. There is a large artificial channel in front of the slope, so that the town can only be accessed through a wooden bridge above the channel. In the upper part of the town were situated the main tower, a cistern and a representative residential Medieval building.
