The Pier Project
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Recognized by many as the longest seaport during the Philippines' Spanish era, the now abandoned Pantalan Pier, just outside of Silay City in the central Philippines, was also at one time the busiest pier on the Asian continent. The entire 1.7km length of the wharf was unfortunately bombed and destroyed during WWII, leaving only the support pillars and some cross beams to mark the waterway where it once stood. Check out this fascinating bit of maritime history from above in this drone video by alfredsaonoy.
