The Sound of Speed 2

In 2020, during the Flysurfer Team Meeting in the Netherlands, we recorded a completely unplanned FPV drone video, which later became the official product video for the new VMG2 race-kite. I also edited the rest of the footage into a one-take video called “The Sound of Speed” with Théo de Ramecourt, using only sound effects and no music. It was a challenge in itself. No SFX sounds with kitefoil existed at the time. To make it happen, I had to create a waterproof cover for the audio recorder and ride with it for an hour-long session on the foil, capturing the sound of my foilboard.

So here we are, August 2024. Théo and I are with the crew recording the official promotional video for the new Olympic kite, the VMG3. Tired after a few intense days of filming and managing the shoot, we both came up with the idea that it would be worthwhile to take the opportunity and record The Sound of Speed 2. And so we did :)
