BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Zabojsko Lake (Zabojsko jezero) is one of the most secluded and picturesque glacial lakes ("mountain eyes") in Montenegro. It is located on Mount Sinjajevina in its southeastern region, sitting right above the Tara River Canyon, and falls under the management of Durmitor National Park. Key Features Location & Elevation: It sits at an altitude of approximately 1,477 meters (4,846 feet) above sea level. Dimensions & Depth: Despite covering a relatively small surface area (around 2.7 hectares), it is remarkably deep for a mountain lake. Reaching depths of nearly 19 meters (62 feet), it ranks among the deepest glacial lakes in Montenegro. Landscape: The lake is densely surrounded by lush spruce, fir, and beech forests. Because of the heavy tree cover and calm waters, the forest reflects off the surface, giving the lake a striking emerald-green tone. Access & Visitor Information Getting There: The primary starting point is the village of Dobrilovina, along the Mojkovac – Đurđevića Tara road. A rough dirt road leads up to the lake, which is best suited for 4x4 off-road vehicles or a 2 to 2.5-hour hike one way. Amenities & Activities: A gentle walking trail circles the entire perimeter, allowing for an easy walk around the lake. There is a fresh water spring right by the shore, along with shaded rest areas.
