Lawrence and I were invited to fly from a private beach on Long Island, by Captain Ray Kelly. The beach overlooked Huntington Harbor Lighthouse. Huntington Harbor Lighthouse 324 W Shore Road Huntington, NY 11749 Phone: 631-421-1985 Located at the entrance to both Huntington and Lloyd Harbors the Huntington Lighthouse is a working beacon that is surrounded by water and accessible by guided tour boats only. The Beaux-Arts structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2012. The Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society (HLPS) offers guided tours during the months of June, July, August, and September. The lighthouse is also available for small private parties and tours. Each Labor Day weekend hosts the famous Lighthouse Musicfest. It is the ONLY music festival in the WORLD held on top of a working lighthouse in the middle of the water. The HLPS kicks off the holiday season each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving and brings the spirit of the lighthouse to the shore and hosts the Huntington Harbor Parade of Lights, a holiday-decorated boat parade.
