Yana-Urko Peaks, from the Kichwa language Yana = Black and Urku = Mountain, is the highest elevation in the Cajas National Park, not above sea level, but from its base. It has 390 meters of height from base to summit and has vertical walls that reach 200 meters. It is characterized by a rocky outcrop of two peaks (the east one is 4140 and the western one is 4110 MASL), which due to processes of weathering of the rocks, were acquiring their particular shapes. Yana-Urko can be seen from several points in the region, as it does not have mountains in its surroundings of greater height that could cover it. Quilico, on a long track reached its summit, from where was possible to capture drone footage for very fisrt of this place. Yana-urko is full of mysticism, where the elements of nature combine to create a peaceful environment with a panoramic view that allows you to admire the essence of the Cajas National Park Paramo.
