Miaoli County in Taiwan boasts numerous natural wonders, and one of the most impressive is Huo Yan Mountain, also known as the Fire Mountain. Located in the town of Tongxiao in Miaoli County, Huo Yan Shan is an active volcano and one of the oldest in Taiwan. Its name derives from the sulfuric volcanic gases that envelop the crater, making it appear as if the mountain is on fire.

Ascending Huo Yan Shan, visitors can marvel at the dramatic volcanic landscape, including a massive crater, lava plains, and sulfur vents. The views here are breathtaking, especially during sunrise or sunset when the mountain's scenery is particularly enchanting. Beyond the vistas, Huo Yan Mountain is also renowned for its geothermal activity, allowing visitors to witness the wonder of subterranean energy firsthand.
