Bavona Valley - Part 2 (Ticino, Switzerland)

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

This is the second in a series of drone videos by former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Kpax from the Bavona Valley region of southern Switzerland.  The first stop is the village of Puntid, in the side valley of Calnegia.  Then it's on to the town of Gerra, in the nearby Verzasca Valley.  The last stop is the town of Calnegia.  The Bavona Valley covers the northwestern part (the Vallemaggia District) of Ticino, a largely Italian speaking canton which roughly resembles a downward-pointed arrow into northern Italy.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

The Calnègia valley in the Bavona valley is home to the 100 m waterfall in Foroglio. A long valley with a long tradition.

Puntid, is characterised by flowering meadows, an arched bridge and the stream rushing below. Towards the valley, a new suspension bridge leads to Splüia Bèla (splüi are shelters under boulders once used by cattle and shepherds).

The second alp, Gerra, is a flood plain where more splüi are located. Cattle (mother cows) and goats spend the summer here. The red-and-white path traverses a varied landscape featuring woods, meadows, boulders and streams.

Calnègia, the third alp, is distinguished by its traditional rustici and forms the end of the valley. Many alpine tours start from here.
