Located in the southern part of the island, this canyon was formed by glaciation; the Fjaðrá River, which runs through its bottom, did not actually create it. The 1.2 mi. long (two km) gorge has a maximum depth of about 330 ft. (100 m). Easily accessible from Iceland's Ring Road, Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon was (famously) used to film a wildly popular music video by pop singer Justin Bieber.
