ABOUT THE PLACE:

La Gomera is the third smallest of the 8 islands of the Canary archipelago, located 50 km west of Tenerife. Garajonay National Park covers 11% of the area in the centre of the island. The footage you will see covers virtually all corners of the island, including an extremely rare shot of a Barbary falcon over the town of Vallehermoso. The population of this bird has increased significantly in the last 30 years, from only 7 pairs in the eastern islands to about 70 pairs throughout the archipelago.

BEHIND THE SCENE:

I filmed La Gomera almost entirely in December 2021. Unfortunately, I lost all 10 kg of filming equipment and recordings in Barcelona while returning home. After 3 years of trauma, I returned to La Gomera in February this year and there were unpleasant surprises: the weather conditions were worse right after the Saharan Calima winds. The worst situation, however, happened to me on the Arure ridge between the Taguluche cliffs on one side and the Gran Rey canyon on the other, when an unexpected gust of wind from 5 km/h reached over 60 km/h and I had to immediately catch the drone with my hand, hurting 4 of my fingers with the propellers. However, everything ended happily.

I invite you to watch a film from a beautiful Spanish island, which has not been touched by tourist commercialism and where the climatic conditions are among the best on the planet.

UPDATE:

I decided in the last moment to split my video into two parts. Please enjoy PART 1.
