Mount Mee rainforest park & forest drive is in the North D'Aguilar section of D'Aguilar National Park, about 70km from the city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.. The Gantry is like travelling back in time to explore the remnants of The Gantry’s timber-mill history before setting out on a bushwalk or scenic forest drive. Once the site of a thriving timber sawmill, this day-use area is now the gateway to exploring the northern section of D'Aguilar National Park. Discover the legacy of a sawmill that operated here from the 1930s when boilers ran the steam engine right through to 1981. If you're feeling energetic, both the Piccabeen walk and Somerset trail start and finish opposite the picnic area. With a 4WD or trail bike you can make your visit a full-day park adventure—the Western escarpment forest drive, Mount Mee forest drive and Range Road forest drive all begin from The Gantry. These roads are not suitable for conventional (2WD) vehicles. Falls Lookout track is an easy walk with excellent views of Bulls Falls and the surrounding ridges and valleys from two lookout points. Mount Mee forest drive runs through native and plantation forests to enjoy rainforest walks, pristine waterholes and shaded picnic areas along the way. Starting from and finishing at The Gantry in the northern section of D'Aguilar National Park, you can embark on a 4WD or trail bike journey through this scenic 16km forest drive. Rumble through picturesque native and plantation forests as you navigate dips, climbs and turns. Along your way, stop at Falls lookout track and enjoy views across the D'Aguilar Range, or stretch your legs on the tranquil Mill rainforest walk. Dip your feet in the cool waters at Rocky Hole before continuing on to enjoy a picnic lunch at Broadwater. Spend a night camping beneath a star-studded sky at Neurum Creek camping area or Archer camping area. Return the way you came or head south along Lovedays Road to return to The Gantry. Alternatively, keep driving north to Broadwater before travelling out of the park and on through the small township of Woodford.
