I have worked to get the best settings for the Runcam Thumb that I could by using GyroFlow and adjusting the config file and color grading.

The Runcam thumb is a great little light weight camera. Is it ideal for everyone? Maybe not.

However for many, especially Micro drone pilots and new FPV pilots, the low cost and light weight make this camera very appealing.

Do you want a copy of the configuration file I am using in this video for your Runcam Thumb?

Do you know what a .cube file is? Would you like a copy of the lut I am using in this video?

I'm focusing in this video mostly on testing my changes to the default config file, to try and get the best results I can from this low bitrate camera.

Gyroflow is a big part of this camera's appeal.

Please like and comment if you would like for me to detail in another video, the process and settings I use in GyroFlow specifically for the Runcam Thumb to achieve the results you see in this video.

The default configuration file is in my opinion very aggressive, many of the settings need to come down. The over sharpening on the default settings I find very unattractive and it really consumes and already extremely low bit rate.

The fisheye lens effect, is very strong, lens correction I feel is almost mandatory.

This camera is not a run and gun type of camera, it cannot hold a candle to a GoPro for quality.

This camera is at it's best when you have the time and energy to rework your footage in post.

The quality I would say is good enough for posting on IG, Youtube, Facebook and other social media sites. Looks decent on a mobile device.

If you are not ready to rework your footage in post this may not be for you.

If you are looking for some serious cinematic filming, again this camera is not for you.

If you smash like hulk and go through cameras, this is a camera for you, it's low cost. You can send it.

If weight is a huge priority (#microlife) , this camera ticks that box BIGTIME, it's perfect for little micros and recording memories of a great time and flights to share.

Put a piece of electrical tape over the SD card door, if you fail to do so, it's just a matter of time until you loose a SD card in a crash.

Please fix that RunCam.

The external power supply is both a Pro and a Con to some. I like externally powering the camera, I'm into light weight. Unless it comes to girls, I like them all. Light and Heavy.

If you have any constructive criticisms, or tips to get even better quality, please by all means leave a comment.

I simply want to achieve the best image possible, I would really like to hear from more experienced pilots if they have any input or suggestions.
