Being an electrical engineer this is a way I developed to stop heat travelling up silicone wire decades ago as I wanted to retain the flexible silicone wires, I then clean the boards with alcohol from all flux using a toothbrush and continue to lay 4 layers of spray conformal coating to make this rig waterproof. I fly low over rivers and oceans and many times well you know the quad takes a cooling off dip in the water, this method will save your electronics from shorts as it forms a silicone coating over everything. So in short you solder everything, plug in everything and only then conformal coat everything allow 24 hours for a complete dry before using to avoid heat creating a bubble exposing any solder. Ever now and then I take time to make a really neat build, the wiring loom is neat and tough. I wouldnt go to this extent for quads to throw around, but on long range rigs and ones that I need 100% reliable setups I spend that extra time to make them perfect and visually appealing.
